Ashton Vale Heritage Group meet on a regular basis to discuss how can work together to protect our heritage.  We also want your views on what Ashton Vale needs and what should be added to this web site.

As a community we are keeping an eye on what is happening in the Ashton Vale fields. We are also publishing information on Events that are taking place in and around the Ashton Vale Area.

We managed to secure some funding for a seat in the playing fields. We are currently applying to The Bedminster Community Chest for further funding for the community.  Given that this planning application has come along and in some respects caused a conflict with some people in the community, then perhaps we need to have an external organisation come along and really try and find out what the community thinks and what they feel it needs.  We have asked for some funding to bring in someone to work with the community to try and make sure that this application does not destroy the community.  We are also well aware that the group was established as a campaign group, it does not try to say it is anything else and it does not represent the whole community.  So a distinct Ashton Vale Web site would be a much better forum for the community, one not linked to the Campaign Group, but run by the community for the community.  So we hope if we are successful with the bid for funding we can try and help the community establish what it really needs.
